Add your signup form to WordPress.

Use the Custom HTML block. On your own WordPress install that works as long as you’re an Administrator or Editor. On WordPress.com it needs a plan that allows forms and iframes.

Which snippet to use

The inline form in a Custom HTML block. The iframe embed works in the same block if you’d rather show the full branded form.

Plan and role check

WordPress.com: its help center lists form, input, iframe, and script as tags that need a paid plan: “Plugin-enabled plan sites have no limits to the code you can add once you activate hosting features. Before activation, the same limits as free sites apply.” On other plans those tags are removed, so the form won’t work. Add a Buttons block that links to your signup page instead.

Your own WordPress (WordPress.org): users without the unfiltered_html capability, such as Contributors, get tags like iframe and script stripped when they save. Add the block as an Administrator or Editor.

Step by step

  1. Copy your inline form. In your Hollerpost dashboard, go to Audience → Signup forms, pick the form you want (or the default page), and click Copy code next to “Inline form for your website.” It looks like this:
    <form method="POST" action="https://utopian-marketing-api.jmiller-580.workers.dev/api/marketing/signup/your-workspace" style="display:flex;gap:8px;max-width:420px">
      <input type="hidden" name="form_id" value="your-form-id">
      <input type="text" name="website" value="" style="display:none" tabindex="-1" autocomplete="off">
      <input type="email" name="email" required placeholder="you@example.com"
        style="flex:1;padding:10px 12px;border:1px solid #ccc;border-radius:8px">
      <button type="submit"
        style="padding:10px 16px;border:0;border-radius:8px;background:#4f46e5;color:#fff;font-weight:600">
        Subscribe</button>
    </form>

    This is a placeholder. Copy yours from Audience → Signup forms in your dashboard.

  2. Open the page or post in the WordPress block editor.
  3. Add a Custom HTML block. Click the Block Inserter icon (the +) and choose Custom HTML. Or type /html in a new paragraph and press Enter.
  4. Paste your code into the block. On newer versions, click Edit HTML to open the code editor first; you’ll see a preview next to the code. Press Update when you’re done.
  5. Save or update the page, then open it as a visitor and sign up with your own email. You should show up in Audience in your dashboard.

No Custom HTML on your plan?

Add a Buttons block (or any link) and point it at your signup page link from Audience → Signup forms, “Hosted signup page”:

https://utopian-marketing-api.jmiller-580.workers.dev/api/marketing/signup/your-workspace?f=your-form-id

This is a placeholder. Copy yours from Audience → Signup forms in your dashboard.

What happens when someone signs up

They land in your audience with their consent recorded (where they signed up and when), tagged signup-form plus any tags you set on the form. If the form asks for email confirmation, they join once they click the link we send them. With the inline form, the thank-you message opens on your Hollerpost signup page; with the iframe, it shows right inside the box.

If it doesn’t show up

  • The form disappeared when you saved. Your plan or your user role strips form and iframe tags. See the plan and role check above.
  • “This block contains unexpected or invalid content.” WordPress.com’s fix: click Attempt Recovery, or open Resolve and choose Convert to HTML. You can also delete the block and paste the code into a fresh Custom HTML block.
  • A caching plugin is showing an old page. Clear the cache and check again in a private window.
