Integrations / Squarespace
Add your signup form to Squarespace.
Use a Code block. The inline form works on every Squarespace plan. The iframe needs a plan that allows iframes in Code blocks.
Which snippet to use
The inline form. It’s plain HTML, and Squarespace says Code blocks support plain HTML on all plans. You can style the button color in your dashboard.
Plan check
Squarespace’s help center says: “On all plans, code blocks support plain text, HTML, Markdown, and CSS.” Adding iframes or JavaScript to a Code block needs the Core, Plus, or Advanced plan (or an older Business or Commerce plan). If you’re on Personal or Basic, use the inline form or link to your signup page from a button.
Step by step
- Copy your inline form. In your Hollerpost dashboard, go to Audience → Signup forms, pick the form you want (or the default page), and click Copy code next to “Inline form for your website.” It looks like this:
<form method="POST" action="https://utopian-marketing-api.jmiller-580.workers.dev/api/marketing/signup/your-workspace" style="display:flex;gap:8px;max-width:420px"> <input type="hidden" name="form_id" value="your-form-id"> <input type="text" name="website" value="" style="display:none" tabindex="-1" autocomplete="off"> <input type="email" name="email" required placeholder="you@example.com" style="flex:1;padding:10px 12px;border:1px solid #ccc;border-radius:8px"> <button type="submit" style="padding:10px 16px;border:0;border-radius:8px;background:#4f46e5;color:#fff;font-weight:600"> Subscribe</button> </form>This is a placeholder. Copy yours from Audience → Signup forms in your dashboard.
- Edit the page in Squarespace where you want the form.
- Add a Code block. Hover over the section and click Add block or + to open the block menu, then click Code.
- Open the block editor by clicking the pencil icon on the block.
- Set it to HTML. In the Type menu, choose HTML, and leave the Display Source toggle off. (Display Source shows the code as text instead of running it.)
- Paste your code into the text field (Ctrl + V on Windows, Command + V on Mac), then save the page.
- Check it as a visitor. Open your page in a private or incognito window and sign up with your own email. You should show up in Audience in your dashboard.
On Core, Plus, or Advanced you can paste the iframe embed into the same kind of Code block instead. It shows the full branded form with the thank-you message inside the box.
What happens when someone signs up
They land in your audience with their consent recorded (where they signed up and when), tagged signup-form plus any tags you set on the form. If the form asks for email confirmation, they join once they click the link we send them. With the inline form, the thank-you message opens on your Hollerpost signup page; with the iframe, it shows right inside the box.
If it doesn’t show up
- You’re logged in. Squarespace says that as a security measure, code in a Code block sometimes doesn’t appear while you’re logged in, even though visitors can see it. Check in an incognito window, or click Preview in Safe Mode.
- The page is inside an Index. Code may not render on a page within an Index. Squarespace suggests removing the page from the Index to test.
- Ajax loading. Squarespace notes Ajax loading can conflict with custom code. Try turning it off.
- The iframe is blank on Personal or Basic. Those plans don’t allow iframes in Code blocks. Use the inline form instead.
- You used an Embed block. Embed blocks are for oEmbed links like videos. Paste signup form code into a Code block.
Still stuck?
